In this video I demonstrate the iPad version of the official twitter application for iOS. Yesterday version 2.3.1 of the Twitter app was released into the iTunes app store that included a number of bug fixes, slight user interface tweaks, and push notifications for @replys and messages. Boxcar has been the dominate app in the twitter push notification space for a while. Boxcar recently received a major update that added many new features such as notifications when you receive a new follower, your tweet is re-tweeted, your tweet is starred, or you are added to a list. I personally have turned off boxcar notifications for @replys and messages and plan on relying on the official push notifications which have already been more consistent. I have however, left boxcar installed on my iPhone and iPad for the additional push notifications giving me the best of both worlds.
