Backpack Review
Posted by Jordan Patterson in Review on August 31st, 2009
In this video I review the Backpack by twelve south. This is a great accessory for your iMac or cinema display. This shelf sits on the back of your device and hold up to five pounds. I use min to hold two external 3.5″ hard drives. Thanks to Andrew at http://www.twelve south.com for sending me this product to review. If you own an iMac or cinema display you need this product.

Custom AudioBoo Webstream
Posted by Jordan Patterson in Walkthrough on August 19th, 2009
This is my first text only post in a long time but several friends on Twitter requested me to explain my “Webstream” tab on my wordpress blog. This tab is a accumulation of all my activity on the web including Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, Google Reader, FriendFeed and more. This is all accomplished through a simple wordpress plug in called Lifestream, I am not terribly fond of this name however. One of my favorite online services is AudioBoo, unfortunately lifestream does not support importing of AudioBoo natively. Of course one option is to import my AudioBoo RSS feed but this just posts a link to the recording that points to my AudioBoo Profile. This is an ok solution but I want a nice flash audio player to be in my Webstream rather than just a link.
I have accomplished this by slightly modifying the code of the plug in with considerable help from a twitter follower , David Partridge. This modification essentially looks for audioboo.fm links in my twitter posts and replaces them with the embedded AudioBoo flash player provided on their site. This provides a very elegant solution to my problem and gives me the look that I want. Check below to download the complete modified plug in file for wordpress.
Much of the work done to implement this on my site was done by the creator of the Lifestream plug in David Cramer, and the person who modified the code of the plug in David Partridge.

Just a simple walk through of my new media closet. Including my time machine server, a G4 cube and a firewire external hard drive.
