These recent releases look really enticing. I had an older atvflash setup and had to uninstall a load of sofware to remove a suspected memory leak that slowed the system. I was planning to build my own patchstick from scratch, but I am now tempted to go the whole way and buy a lifetime subscription. The only this holding me back are some of the updates require specialist commands such as installing nitoTV.
What is the minimum system and will it run dvds copied across or do we have to instal nitotv

Are you going to follow up on this review/tutorial? You say you won't go into the plugins in this video. Does this mean you're going to create another video about patchstick.ca?? I'd love it! I just bought this based on your review of how easy you make it look. Their website and wiki isn't the easiest to understand so I'd love for you to go a bit more into it.

Hello Alex,
we have to comply to legal requirements. We cannot provide a fully automated script, but you only have to copy/paste to get these files on the AppleTV. Everything else is done by our software.
We wish we could offer a more integrated solution, but it is not possible. Be assured that we are working on even better solutions and follow us on Twitter to receive the latest news about our products.
Our base version can be used free of charge, so we invite you to check it out. Please contact us via email if you have any kind of questions.

You are correct, legaly sine atvflash purchased the rights to couch
surfer no competitor can legaly provide a complete script. Nowhere on
the site does it say that couchsurfer is automaticaly installed. The
value in patchstick in my opinion is the ease of upgrading and or
removing the individual plugins. It's simple but doesn't require re
flashing the apple tv. Both soloutions get the job done but I feel
that patchstick has some key advantages.

Jordan Patterson

I almost fell into this trap.

A full review would have stated that installing nitotv or Couch Surfer require ALOT of extra "non-appleesque" type work. They even point you to a competitors site for one of the file downloads that needs to be manually installed. So what do I actually get for $65???
